Miami’s Campus Earned The 2010 MedVance NCLEX Pass Rate Award for Top LPN Program
MIAMI – (Dec. 23, 2010) – Graduates of the MedVance Institute, LPN program in Miami achieved a 100% NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) pass rate during the first two quarters of the year and maintained a 93.9% rate in the quarter ending Sept. 30. For its strong showing, Miami’s campus earned the 2010 MedVance NCLEX Pass Rate Award for Top Practical Nursing Program at MedVance’s Fall National Nursing Meeting.
The pass rate elevates the Miami campus’ nursing program into lofty company. The national NCLEX-PN pass rate through the third quarter of 2010 was under 87½% and, in 2008, the University of Washington School of Nursing, recognized as the nation’s most highly ranked program, had a 90% NCLEX pass rate for its registered nurse (RN) candidates.
“Our nursing program is only six years old so it doesn’t enjoy the same stature that a program such as the University of Washington does; however, it is most gratifying to know our graduates are accepted into the profession at levels on par with and, in some cases higher than, America’s elite nursing schools,” said Campus Director Dr. Vicente Quinones.
“I wish to salute our nursing staff and students for their unqualified success, and thank them for bringing great honor to our campus.”
MedVance Institute, Miami was granted approval as a Practical Nursing program by the Florida Board of Nursing in 2004. Since then, the campus has graduated more than 150 practical nursing candidates. According to Quinones, the campus keeps its class sizes small to ensure students receive the closely supervised, hands-on attention that helps produce successful nurses.
The Miami campus is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) and accredited by the Commission for Occupational Education (COE). The school’s Career Services Department works closely with graduates to help secure employment upon successfully passing the NCLEX. Financial aid is available to students who qualify.
MedVance Institute offers a complete range of diploma and degree-granting healthcare programs at its campuses in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee. The institute was founded to provide an outstanding education in a supportive environment by following a mission of helping all students to succeed in their chosen careers. MedVance is committed to graduating qualified professionals who can participate in the community’s medical services and contribute to the health and well being of all those they serve.
