STUART, Fla. – (Sept. 17, 2009) – Preparing for hostage taking is part of the job.  So is rushing out to hurricane-ravaged areas to manage cleanup efforts.  It’s a career with stability, growth, and annual incomes that offer solid earning potential.

Emergency management specialists, one of the nation’s fastest-growing professions, coordinate disaster response activities, provide disaster preparedness training, and prepare procedures for natural, wartime, and technological disasters or hostage situations.

Today, MedVance Institute, a leading healthcare career training provider, announced the addition of an emergency management specialist program at its Stuart campus, 851 S.E. Johnson Avenue.  Classes are enrolling now for a November start.

Ideal for military veterans, the new eight-and-a-half-month program will teach students how to manage emergencies, promote public health and safety, and provide disaster preparedness training.

The field of emergency management specialists is projected to grow due to increased public awareness of the work and demand for coordinating disaster response, preparing emergency plans, and removing hazardous materials from buildings and facilities, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Among all career choices available to individuals today, emergency management specialist has emerged as among the closest of all to being recession-proof and offering great career opportunities, with considerable income potential,” said MedVance Institute Chairman, CEO and President John Hopkins.

MedVance Institute has begun recruiting students for the emergency management specialist program, with classes beginning in November.  Some of the 11-course program’s classes will begin every month, allowing students to start when it is most convenient and not have to wait as long as a full year to begin.  Upon graduating, students are eligible to sit for seven FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) certification exams.

MedVance Institute, a national leader in healthcare career training, is a fast growing, privately held medical career training organization offering a complete range of diploma and degree-granting healthcare programs at campuses in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee, with an Alabama campus to open in 4th Quarter 2009.  The institute was founded to provide an outstanding education in a supportive environment by following a mission of helping all students to succeed in their chosen careers.  MedVance Institute is committed to graduating qualified professionals who can participate in the community’s medical services and contribute to the health and well being of all those they serve.
