GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – (October 5, 2009) – Program graduates work with some of the most high-tech equipment available today and, in the process, provide valuable images that assist in the diagnosis of patient conditions. It’s a career with stability and growth.
Radiologic technology, a career choice rated “favorable” by the U.S. Department of Labor for future employment and continued growth, involves working with sophisticated X-ray machines and other specialized equipment to guide and enhance treatment protocols.
MedVance Institute, a leading healthcare career training provider, announces the launch of a new radiologic technology program at its Grand Prairie campus, 401 E. Palace Parkway, Suite 100. Classes are enrolling now for an October start.
The new 23-month program will provide students with in-depth knowledge of X-ray positioning according to standardized practices and procedures, physics, specialized equipment and techniques, image critique and patient care. Graduates will be prepared to produce medical images of the body that physicians need to help them diagnose and treat illness and injury. They also will be eligible to take the examination to become certified as a radiologic technologist.
Texas is among the five states that the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts will have the highest concentration of new healthcare jobs through the end of the decade. The government agency expects that, as the population grows and ages, there will be an increasing demand for diagnostic imaging throughout the state. As a result, employment of radiologic technologists is expected to increase by about 15 percent through 2016, faster than the average for all occupations.
“Among all career choices available to individuals today, healthcare-related jobs such as those in radiologic technology have emerged as the closest of all to being recession-proof and offering great career opportunities, with considerable income potential,” said MedVance Institute Chairman,
MedVance Institute is recruiting students from the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area now for the highly competitive radiologic technology training program. New classes will start each year.
MedVance Institute, a national leader in healthcare career training, is a fast growing, privately held medical career training organization offering a complete range of diploma and degree-granting healthcare programs at campuses in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee, with an Alabama campus to open in 4th Quarter 2009.
